THIS is More Important Than Power!
Mar 14, 2024Hey!
Before we keep going, welcome back to another edition of the blog. If you’re new to the blog and want to go back and check out past editions, go here!
Today’s edition has two parts:
1. Details of The Game – Spin ➡️ Power.
2. Update on ThatPickleballSchool – Pickleb
Details of The Game (Video):
I can’t be the only one who can never remember which is which when it comes to the terms “bullish” & “bearish.”
But after my google search, I’m bullish about pickleball IQ.
See, when I was in 10th grade, I went to PGC (Point Guard College) basketball camp. And more than just rolling out the balls for us to play games, the camp director taught us to “think the game.”
That philosophy not only earned me a division one scholarship a couple years later, but fundamentally changed my approach to sports.
See, 2.5 years ago when I first started pickleball, I always gravitated toward the strategy and nuance of the game. And I subscribed to the idea we can break through the (fake) ceiling we all think we have on our ability by understanding more than just “drops, dinks, and putaways.”
And because I was out for a few months with a wrist injury, I've spent the better half of 3 months primarily watching film, and editing fclips of every topic I can think of in the sport.
Because here's the thing.
Once you understand positioning, angles, shot selection, spin, & cause and effect — things change for you. At least they have for me.
In fact, It’s why I started ThatPickleballSchool. To share everything I’ve learned from watching, playing, and asking questions to the best players in the world — with you.
So I recently ran two in-person schools, which went great. And more of those are coming later in the year. But now, I’m turning my attention to creating ThatPickleballSchool, online.
Because I want to share these insights with people across the world and build a community of like minded people.
So, If you’re interested in joining “The Priority List” for ThatPickleballSchool, you can do so here.
I intend to build this school alongside those who are interested. Asking you questions and getting your insight to help inform everything the school includes. More information will be coming sometime soon!
Until next week,
Kyle
