This one shot works… A LOT 😳

Mar 28, 2024

Hey!

Before we keep going, welcome back to another edition of the blog. If you’re new to the blog and want to go back and check out past editions, go here!

Today’s edition has three parts:

1. Details of The Game (Video) – The inside-out forehand.

2. A Helpful Tip – The behavior we all should avoid, but don’t.

3. Update on My Journey Playing Pro – "Breaking Pickleball" comes out April 1st.

Details of The Game (Video):

I’ll admit, I (sometimes) hesitate to share certain insights online. My concern is future opponents picking up things that took me years to learn and using them against me in the future.

I often think, what if Roger Federer had a youtube channel and shared everything he knows on there. Would he still have that many major championships? (yes I just compared myself to Roger. 😂)

Nevertheless, keep this one between us, as it’s become one of my favorite shots in the game. Mainly because it just works.

And although I focus on right-handers on the right side in this video, it works for lefties too :)

Take a look👇

A Helpful Tip:

As many of you know, my most recent Youtube video, “5 Chess Strategies to become a smarter player” is now available on youtube.

One section that’s been on my mind over the last few weeks is what I talk about at 6:06. In fact, yesterday when I was playing, I found myself doing the exact thing I teach in the video not to do.

But as the saying goes: The greatest distance in the world is between knowing and doing.

And we all need to keep working on the doing part :)

In closing, if you don’t watch any other part of the video, watch that one!

Update on My Journey Playing Pro:

TWO UPDATES:

1. While I'm not completely pain free yet, I’ve been practicing all week with my right hand — and it’s been amazing. Anyone that’s come back from injury knows that feeling you get when you’re back playing something you love.

Gratitude :)

Oo, and between us, my pro buddies (who I hadn’t played with in months before yesterday) had a big look of confusion when I changed hands midpoint and attacked with my left.

Who knows, maybe this injury was the best thing to ever happen to my game :)

2. “Breaking Pickleball” - the new documentary that captured season 1 of the Arizona Pickleball League is complete, and the first episode comes out April 1!

Two nights ago, players, coaches, and fans of the league showed up to a local theater and watched all 6 episodes. It was incredible.

The good news is, you can watch for free.

  1. Click here (trailer inside as well).
  2. Scroll down & enter your email.
  3. Get the private links, as all 6 episodes will drop over two weeks — starting April 1.

Trust me, you won’t regret watching!

Talk soon,

Kyle
